Progress for last week

Bluenose Dime - Feb 19th
One of the projects that I was determined to work on even for a little bit this week was Bluenose Dime.

Bluenose Dime - Feb 27th
I am still working on the regular DMC floss but see that it won't be long now before I am working with the silks.  I am thinking that maybe even the next time I am working on Bluenose that I will need to start with some of the silks so that I can get parts done.  This project got a couple of hours but not as much as I would have liked.   I would like to be able to find some more time this week to make some more progress on Bluenose Dime but will have to see how things go.

Besides working on Bluenose Dime I was able to sit down and put some stitches in Lady over the weekend.
Lady - Feb 21st

I am looking forward to getting Lady done but it does mean that I need to sit and focus on it instead of bouncing between all the projects that I have on the go.  It feels good seeing a change in this piece as I have been working on it for a while. I actually started this project on September 6th and it got put aside for a while but now I am going to focus on getting it finished.
Lady - Feb 28th

For Lady, I just need to finish her hair and then this project will be completed so that is what I am going to be working on this week.

Of course, as soon as I finish working on Lady there is another project just waiting to get some attention, so will see if there is an update picture of another work-in-progress next week besides Lady and Bluenose Dime.

Work has meant I haven't had as many evenings to sit and stitch but will see what this week has in store.  I am hoping to find some time to work on Lady this week and also Bluenose Dime.  Besides theses two projects there is always crocheting or knitting sitting for me to pick up when I have a bit of time.

It is now time to get the work done so that I can hopefully get a bit more of the hair of Lady done.

A week with a bit of progress

Bluenose Dime - Feb 15th
This past week I decided to try and just focus on a couple of projects instead of bouncing between a lot of them. The first project that got some of my evenings was Bluenose Dime.  As you can see I was able to get a little bit of work done on the piece this week which did make me happy.

The Bluenose Dime is coming along and I will soon be working with the silk threads to complete the rest of the project.  I have a  bit more work with the regular DMC but then it will be onto the silk which will be something that is going to be testing my patience sometimes as it is a slippery thread to work with.
Bluenose Dime - Feb 19th

This weekend after working on Bluenose Dime I decided that I would work on another project that I would like to get completed soon.  This is Lady and I hadn't worked on it since the middle of January so it came out of hiding and got a bit of work done on it.

After this weekend I am seeing that it is going to take me a bit longer than I thought to finish this piece due to the different colours in her hair.  I am thinking that if I can at least work a bit on her this week I might be able to finish her lips and nose area but will see how it goes.
Lady - Jan 23rd

Hopefully this week I will be able to find a bit of time to cross-stitch but looking at my schedule it doesn't look like I am going to have a lot of time for my projects until the weekend. I am going to try and grab little bits of time to work on something but will see how it goes.

Lady - Feb 21st
At least when my schedule is crazy I can still pick up a baby hat to work on or a baby afghan.  These two projects are things that I can do even for the 5 or 10 minutes that I can find to relax at the end of the day.

It is now time for me to get some work done and will see what crafting I will be able to accomplish this week.

Progress and another finish

Bluenose Dime - Feb 4th
This week was a pretty good week for working on projects in the evenings.  I was determined to see if I could at least make a bit of progress on a couple of the projects that I have on the go.

Bluenose Dime - Feb 15th
The Bluenose Dime had only been getting small bits of attention so this week I decided to try and see if I could at least make a bit of progress on it.  I am going to say that having Family Day also meant that I had some time to actually sit and work on it for a little while. Of course sitting and working on it made me happy because I am finally starting to see a bit more progress on it.  This project is being done differently than I do a lot of my projects.  The Bluenose Dime uses both regular DMC floss and Silk floss so I am going to be getting all the regular DMC floss stitched before I start adding the silk floss.   I still have areas that need to be completed before adding the silk.  Hopefully if I can focus on this project again for another couple of evenings I might be able to see even more progress on it before next weekend.
Butterfly - Dec 6th

Besides working on Bluenose Dime I decided to see if I could finish the Butterfly that I started in December.  Yes, this is one of the projects that put aside when I decided to work on Blackwork Knight and Blackwork Princess. It didn't take me long to get some progress on this project and by Sunday evening I was able to say that I have finished the Butterfly so it is now onto another project.

Butterfly - Feb 14th
I always have projects on the go so it doesn't take me long to look and see which project is going to be worked on next.  I still have one project that I am working on and haven't shown any progress as I want to keep it a surprise for now.

Besides working on the cross-stitch patterns most evenings I was also able to find a little bit of time to sit and work on a baby afghan last night.  I didn't get much done on it but I still was able to add a couple of rows so that's better than nothing.

Family Day weekend was great as it gave my DH and I some time to spend together and do things together.   It is now back to work so that means we are going to be busy trying to do five days worth of work in four but we will get everything done.

Stitching of some sort is still on schedule for the evenings this week and I hope to have more to show you next week.  Until then, it's off to get some work done and then see if stitching can be done this evening.

Progress and a finish

Bluenose Dime - Jan 22nd
This past week I was able to find some time to actually work on a couple of cross-stitch projects. I have been really trying to find time most evenings to at least spend an hour working on a project.

Bluenose Dime hadn't seen any work on it for almost two weeks so I figured it was time to try and at least get a few stitches done on it. I added some of the white for one of the sails so hopefully this week I will be able to do more of this project.

Bluenose Dime - Feb 4th
I am going to try and get most of the regular thread stitches done on Bluenose Dime before I start working with the silk threads.  I figure I want to ensure I have lots of places to secure the silk threads before I start working with them.  Silk and Rayon threads do have habits of wanting to un-stitch themselves if not secured well as want to ensure I can secure them well.

Blackwork Princess - Jan 31st
Blackwork Princess was the one project that got most of the attention this week.  I figured just sitting and working on it for a while would mean that I might actually get it finished this week.  The good news is I was able to get it finished so that is another project that is ready to be framed.

It is nice seeing both the Blackwork Princess and Blackwork Knight finished and ready for framing.  I am not sure how quickly they will be framed but at least the stitching part is now done on both of them.
Blackwork Princess - Feb 7th

Blackwork Knight
Now that Blackwork Princess is completed I am going to go back and work on some of the other pieces that I also want to get done quickly.  I know the pieces that are currently waiting to be finished are:
  • Butterfly
  • Lady
  • Erasmus
These are just three projects that I can quickly think about that I would like to finish soon.

Besides all the cross-stitching that I am working on, I also have a purple baby afghan that is getting a little bit of attention.  The baby afghan is normally worked on Monday evenings when I curl up and watch one program on television for 2 hours.  The afghan means that I can watch the program and get something done but not have to watch a pattern.

Work is now needing to be done today so it is off to get some of that done.  Hopefully next week I will have more to show for the week.  It is also Family Day next Monday here in Ontario so my update won't be until next Tuesday for the progress for the week.

Moving forward

Blackwork Princess - Jan 24th
This last week was a very focused week of crafting when I had time to sit and work on something.

Blackwork Princess received most of my stitching time as I am looking forward to having this piece finished so that I can frame both the Princess and Knight at the same time. This project is also great because I can see progress on it very quickly and that is nice when you don't have a lot of stitching time.

The other project that I worked on this week was a baby afghan that I discovered that I had started and it just needed some time on it to get it completed.  I don't remember when I started this afghan but after a couple of weeks of working on it a bit at a time I was able to get it finished last night.
Blackwork Princess - Jan 31st

Of course, a rather crazy work schedule last week meant that I really didn't have a lot of time to craft but I was able to find at least an hour some nights to do something and that makes me happy.

Funny Prints Baby Afghan - finished Jan 31st
This week I am not sure what crafting I am going to be doing, as my work schedule is still a little crazy, but time will tell.

I do know that Blackwork Princess is going to be finding time to be worked on, as I am looking forward to getting this piece completed.  I have a lot of other projects that are currently in the WIP pile (Work in process) so they need to get some attention soon.

Besides working on these two projects I do have another project that has just been started so that isn't anything to show for it.  I am working on another project that is from a picture that I took and want to made some progress on it before I take any picture.  It is also a project that is going to be slow moving for a while.

As for now I have some work to do so that is what I am heading off to do.
